The translator of a dubbed version must provide the dubbing actor with a faithful translation, yet one that, when played, seems to be spoken by the actor on screen.

This illusion depends on the careful scoring of a mimological text which respects the original inflexions and lip and body mouvements. Using authentic, practical material, with digital viewing and synchronized writing equipment, students will work under real, professionnal, working conditions.
An introduction to lip-reading developped for the hearing-impaired will enable observation of how the mouth produces words and ways to project new words onto it. Students will learn how to adapt their writing to many forms of constraint, in a creative writing workshop, dubbing being one such specific form.
